What am I?” Siraj replied, “Footsteps.” Angry, the monster gave the final riddle: “What has roots no one sees, is taller than trees, and never grows?” Junaid shouted, “A mountain!” The monster roared. “You win the riddles, but now you must fight!” It charged, claws swiping. Junaid dodged and struck with his wooden sword, distracting it. Siraj loaded the shiny acorn into his slingshot and aimed for its glowing eye. The shot hit, and the acorn sprouted into a magical tree, binding the monster. “Fine!” it roared. “I’ll leave your village!” With the monster gone, the river flowed again, and the villagers celebrated their young heroes. Nylon is having issues embracing his natural curly locks. Nylon has tried everything to cover his natural curly hair from wearing baseball caps, pulling hoodies over his head with the drawstring tightly. Nylon thought to himself one night maybe if I spray my head with water and hold my hands on top of my head for 10 minutes my hair would flatten, while this did make Nylon's hair less poofy, by the time morning arrived Nylon hair was curlier and puffer than ever. Nylon figured the only other option he had was to ask his father if he could get his haircut. So, one Saturday morning Nylon's father took him to the local barbershop to get a haircut. Although this is what Nylon thought was going to be life changing, he still didn't feel any different, eventhough his hair was now gone. When Nylon returned to school on Monday all the kids were looking and pointing not quite the response Nylon was looking for, one of his classmates Syer asked him "Heyyyy, why did you cut your hair? "I thought your hair was really cool looking, I wish my hair would curl like that." Nylon gave a slight smile but on the inside he felt confused, but realized that none ever told him that they did not like his locks, no one ever made fun of him that he had extra curly hair, but instead it was his insecurities about his locks that made him feel that everyone else felt the exact same way that he did. From that day on Nylon realized sometimes being different is what makes us all be unique. Nylon went back home and told his dad that he thinks he will let his hair grow back.
