**The Blue Eyes** Lena liked the café for its quiet predictability—familiar faces, muted conversations, and the hum of rain on the windows. It was her refuge, a place where no one expected anything of her. That’s when she noticed him. He sat by the window, ordinary in every way except for his eyes—blue, startlingly vivid, like they saw through her. When he glanced her way, Lena quickly looked down, her heart unexpectedly quickening. Moments later, she heard his voice. “Is this seat taken?” Startled, she stammered, “No, go ahead.” He sat across from her, casual but assured. “I’m Michael,” he said, his gaze steady. “Lena.” Their conversation began awkwardly but quickly fell into an easy rhythm. They talked about books, the rain, nothing extraordinary—yet everything about it felt significant. His presence was magnetic, his words strangely familiar, as though they were picking up a thread they’d left unfinished. --- Michael started appearing more often, each visit deepening their bond. He knew little details about her—how she always ordered her coffee black, how she twisted her ring when nervous. “You notice a lot,” Lena said one day, half-joking. He smiled, almost apologetic. “I don’t mean to. It’s just... you feel familiar. Like I’ve known you before.” Lena’s chest tightened. She felt it too—that inexplicable pull, as if their lives had crossed in ways neither could explain. But she didn’t ask what he meant. Some feelings were too fragile to question. --- Then one day, he disappeared. Lena waited, watching the door every afternoon, her heart sinking when he didn’t come. She texted him, but there was no reply. Days turned into weeks. She went to the café out of habit, but the empty chair across from her was impossible to ignore. He was gone. Sitting by the window one rainy evening, she let the memory settle in her chest like a bittersweet ache.

Maplewood was a happy town. But one day, news came that a sneaky weasel gang was hiding near the edge of the town. The animals were worried and wondered what they should do. Big Bucks Bear, who ran Maplewood Supply Company, had a plan. “We need strong walls and traps to keep the weasels out,” he said. Big Bucks told the animals that, just like during the Cold Forest Standoff years ago, they had to stay prepared and strong. But Penny the Raccoon had another idea. “What if we try to befriend the weasels or help them find a place to live?” she asked. She reminded everyone that spending too much on defense—like when the animals once sent nuts and supplies to faraway lands—could leave them without enough for themselves. Big Bucks was persuasive. He convinced Maplewood to use almost all of their savings to build walls, just like in the Squirrel-Bird Dispute over Nut Valley, when they built forts and traps. Soon, Maplewood was pouring all its resources into Big Bucks’ projects. Penny noticed that things around town were falling apart. With so much money going to walls and gadgets, there was hardly anything left to fix schools, parks, or even make enough food! “What if we’re using up our savings on things that don’t help us every day?” she thought. Penny gathered everyone and shared her plan. “Instead of building walls, let’s work together and share what we have. The world needs peace, just like we learned in the Forest Unity Days!” She reminded them that when the animals had shared their food and tools, they had more than enough. As the animals talked and listened, they realized that the weasels weren’t all bad. They just needed help, too. Penny and her friends invited the weasels to work and play together in Maplewood, and soon they were all sharing the forest’s food and shelter. He used his skills to help rebuild schools, parks, and homes, seeing that Maplewood was stronger when everyone worked together.

However, lately, Savannah has been feeling the pressure to succeed academically and socially, leading her to neglect her passions and interests. One evening, after an exhausting day at school filled with tests, presentations, and social drama, Savannah sits in her room, feeling overwhelmed. Her mother notices her distress and encourages her to take a break and look at the stars, suggesting that sometimes stepping away from daily pressures can provide perspective. Reluctantly, Savannah takes her telescope outside. As she gazes at the cosmos, she notices a shooting star streaking across the sky. In that moment, she makes a heartfelt wish: to find a way to balance her dreams with the pressures of growing up. To her surprise, the shooting star transforms into a whimsical creature named Stella, who embodies the wonder of the universe. Stella takes Savannah on a magical journey through the night sky, visiting different constellations, each of which teaches Savannah a valuable life lesson. For example, she learns from the constellation Orion about perseverance, from the Big Dipper about working together with friends, and from the North Star about staying true to oneself. Through her adventures, Savannah reflects on her own life and the importance of pursuing her passions, even when life gets busy or overwhelming. By the end of their journey, as dawn begins to break, Savannah realizes that while responsibilities are necessary, it's equally important to nurture her interests and dreams. Back in her yard, with the first rays of sunlight illuminating her surroundings, Savannah feels renewed.
