They were fishing masters! They went home smelling strongly of fish. "You better go clean up!" Mum said, "I'm not letting those stinky fish monsters back in the house!" After a good scrub, it was time for dinner. Dad cooked the delicious fish on the barbie, and told them stories of his amazing fishing adventures. He promised their next trip would be on a boat! "Yay!" said 13. "Now I have more than enough to give away 5 apples." After sharing 5 apples, 13 was left with 8 apples. And since 6 gave 1 apple to Ones Village, it turned into 5 in Tens Town. The numbers were happy because they helped each other, and everyone got exactly what they needed. And so, whenever a number doesn’t have enough to subtract, they just borrow from their neighbors in Tens Town, and everything works out perfectly.

June took 4, Mocha took 2, and now I have 6 left. That makes 12!” Ella smiled and hugged June. “Next time, just ask before you take my sweets, Junie Poh!” she laughed. June grinned, chocolate still on her face. “Okay, Ella, I promise I’ll ask next time.” Then she looked at Mocha. “And you, no more sneaking my reeses cup from under the bed!” Mocha wagged her tail happily, and Ella gave her a big hug.
