Some rooms are where you do your thinking and playing, like when you solve a puzzle or play with your toys. This part of your mind is called your conscious mind. It’s what you use when you are awake and thinking about things. But there is another part of the castle that works quietly in the background, even when you’re not thinking about it. This part is called the subconscious. It’s like a magical room where all your dreams, memories, and feelings are stored. Your subconscious helps you remember how to ride a bike, how to tie your shoes, and even helps you feel happy or calm. It listens to everything you think and feel, even if you don’t say it out loud. If you think happy thoughts and believe in good things, your subconscious helps make those things happen. Just like happy thoughts bring good things, sad or angry thoughts can bring not-so-good things. If you keep thinking, “I can’t do this,” or “This is too hard,” you might feel upset and not try your best. Holly thinks its important to focus on the good and stay positive. (page 1) Meet Bella! Today, she is playing outside when suddenly... ACHOO! Uh-oh! A tiny villain called a pathogen has entered her body! But don’t worry—the Immune System Superheroes are on the way! (Page 2) Deep inside Bella’s bones, the red bone marrow is working hard, creating new superheroes—B cells and T cells! These special cells will help fight the villain! (page 3) The pathogen starts making copies of itself. It thinks it can take over! But here come the first responders: Macrophages! These giant cells swallow up invaders and alert the other heroes! (Page 4) After gobbling up the enemy, the macrophages show pieces of the pathogen, called antigens, to the Helper T cells. This is like sending out an emergency call for backup! (page 5) The B cells hear the call and transform into plasma cells! They start making antibodies, tiny weapons that stick to the pathogens and stop them from spreading. (page 6) Meanwhile, Cytotoxic (Killer) T cells arrive! They find infected cells and destroy them to stop the pathogen’s plan! (page 7) Once the battle is almost won, Regulatory T cells make sure the superheroes don’t attack too much. They help the immune system calm down and return to normal. (page 8) After the battle, some B cells turn into Memory Cells. These cells remember the villain so they can defeat it even faster next time! (page 9) Bella feels better! Her primary immune response was strong, and next time, her secondary immune response will be even quicker! (page 10) Thanks to the Immune System Superheroes, Bella is safe! Her body is always ready for the next adventure!

Rotem is going to Amir's birthday party. She's excited, buys him a present he likes and makes him a card. She then walks over the birthday with Dad. At the party, there are many kids from Rotem's school. They're all playing and Rotem greets Amir and plays with all the kids. But when Amir's dad brings the cake, Rotem has a problem: all the kids push ahead and ask for cake, and she doesn't want to push and doesn't know how to ask for cake. She asks Dad, who tells her she should go up to Amir's mom, put her hand forward and ask. Rotem tries. She's too shy to talk, but she puts her hand out, Amir's mom understands and gives her a piece of cake. Rotem eats the cake with all the other kids. Rotem goes home proud of herself, and Dad is proud of her for asking for cake.

The children want to start collecting plastic bottle tops to recycle with Lids4Kids. They meet a nice volunteer who will drive their lids to Canberra for them. Then they send a letter home to their families and ask them to collect plastic bottle tops from milk bottles, pop bottles and water bottles. The children enjoy washing the lids in warm soapy water with their family (and pet dog). Next week all the children bring in a bag of lids each. Together they group the lids into colour groups. The nice volunteer pick them up and takes them to Lids4Kids in Canberra. The lids are then turned into a rainbow colored park bench. The teacher surprises the children by buying the rainbow park bench for their playground.
